About Us

NORTH COUNTRY COUNCIL

Founded in 1973, North Country Council is a nonprofit regional planning agency serving 51 communities and 25 unincorporated places in the northern third of New Hampshire.It is the mission of North Country Council to encourage effective community and regional planning for the development of economic opportunity and the conservation of natural, cultural and economic resources. This is accomplished by providing information, regional advocacy, technical assistance, community education, and direct service to the region, its organizations, and political subdivisions.During our over 30-year history, North County Council has always been a flexible organization, working with communities on a variety of issues and community concerns as needs have arisen. In its function of service to the region, North Country Council initiates or provides essential support for planning and economic development services.

SERVICES

North Country Council offers a variety of services and programs to communities in the areas of economic development and community planning.  Our staff areas of expertise include transportation, economic development, community resiliency, solid waste technical assistance, natural resource planning, housing needs assessment, community planning, public participation, mapping.  Some of these services, programs and activities are complimentary to Member Communities, while others are contractual or require a community match.
